Dr. Amir Said in a statement:

“The new online complaint reporting will make it easy to lodge complaints. It will also help FIA in efficiently responding to such crimes. This online complaint system will be more useful for young girls, women and young children who are frequent victims of Harassment as they do not need to physically visit our reporting center.”

He Also added,

“After registration of complaint, within 24 to 48 hours an SMS will be sent to the affected person with an FIA investigative officer’s name and contact number. For cybercrime, the complainant has no need to submit an affidavit.”

“It is noted that mostly young boys indulge in cyber bulling, harassing, and in some cases blackmailing. This usually causes depression in victims, especially young girls, and sometimes they even try to attempt suicide.

Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 suggests very hard punishments in the case of blackmailing. The law mentions imprisonment of 3 to 14 years and/or a fine from Rs 50 thousand to 5 million.“
