Tech giant Samsung Electronics said on Monday that it plans to sell refurbished versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7s smartphones that were pulled from markets due to fire-prone batteries.

Samsung said in a statement it will determine in which markets it will sell the refurbished Note 7s after consultations with related regulatory authorities and carriers.

Samsung has also planned to recover and use or sell reusable components such as chips and camera modules and extract rare metals used in Note 7s such as copper, gold, nickel and silver.

Analysis done by Samsung found no other problems in the Galaxy Note S7 devices except the batteries, raising speculation that Samsung will recover some of its losses by selling refurbished Note 7s.
